A big thank you to everyone who has pressed that follow button and allowed me to, in a small way, be a part of your online community. Thank you to everyone who has given me awards, I am truly honored for the recognition. Thank you to the thoughtful comments and advice; I really do take it all to heart. Together, we are learning to become better writers, well-rounded readers, and maybe make a few friends along the way. I know I have!In celebration of reaching the mind-boggling 100 follower mark, I am hosting my first contest!
Here's what's up for grabs!
$10 Amazon e-mail Giftcard to two lucky winners!! That's right, I said 2!!
I was going to do 1 winner at $20, but it's always more fun to have two winners right??
Deadline: Friday, February 5th, Midnight Central Time Zone
The rules:
1. Must be a follower (so if you aren't one, clicky clicky!)
2. +1 entry for sidebar post or blog blurb (let me know!)
3. Complete the unfinished sentence: (you can write more than one sentence, I won't mind!)
Valentine's Day was just around the corner, and I was still living a lie. And I didn't even know if it was possible to be forgiven, but I had to try. I'd just walk up and say,

And that's it! Be creative and have fun with it! I will be using a randomizer so don't worry about being judged (I don't trust myself enough to be impartial to the regulars!).
Ciao! I'm a native Texan with a slight northern accent thanks to my relatives, and a slight obsession with Italy thanks to its awesomeness. I have more hobbies than I have time for but getting rid of one would be like choosing which limb I no longer wanted. I started this blog to document my journey as I scratch my way toward the goal of being a published author.

Kristin,
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your 100th follower and all your awards!!
Here is my (silly) sentence:
Valentine's Day was just around the corner, and I was still living a lie. And I didn't even know if it was possible to be forgiven, but I had to try. I'd just walk up and say, "Yes, Chaz, it's true! These ARE highlights...I'm not naturally this blonde! Can you--will you--ever forgive me?"
If he says no, I might just drop to the ground and scream, "Stella!"
xoxo -- Hilary

ReplyDeleteValentine's Day was just around the corner, and I was still living a lie. And I didn't even know if it was possible to be forgiven, but I had to try. I'd just walk up and say, "You know that box of cookies your mom sent you? Well... I kind of... ate them. All. I know, it's unforgivable. Still, I have to try. Will you forgive me?"
"I'd just walk up and say, 'This is who I am. Deal with it. Or move on.'"
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for you - reaching 100 is a big deal! Congrats!
I forgot my sentence!!!
ReplyDeleteValentine's Day was just around the corner, and I was still living a lie. And I didn't even know if it was possible to be forgiven, but I had to try. I'd just walk up and say, "I never liked daisies."

Not that good but my head hurts and I can't think of anything funny or cute! :(

Valentine's Day was just around the corner, and I was still living a lie. And I didn't even know if it was possible to be forgiven, but I had to try. I'd just walk up and say, I was the one who sent the misleading note. I was the one broke the two of you up. And I'm the one who is in love with your ex, who just happens to be my stepbrother. Get over it. Wanna go get some ice cream?
Thanks you for participating in the Saturday Network! And congrats on 100! :D

Now, for the sentence (sorry, I'm totally unoriginal):
Valentine's Day was just around the corner, and I was still living a lie. And I didn't even know if it was possible to be forgiven, but I had to try. I'd just walk up and say, "It's all your brother's fault... he was just so much hotter than you." (hehe)

ReplyDeleteLet's see...I'm already a follower and I'll definitely mention your contest in a blurb at some point when I quit procrastinating and post again. But feel free to hold me to that!
For now - here's my sentence...
Valentine's Day was just around the corner, and I was still living a lie. And I didn't even know if it was possible to be forgiven, but I had to try. I'd just walk up and say,
I'm sorry Gavin (Rossdale of course), yes, I've been cheating on you with my husband...can you and Gwen ever forgive me?
HA! Okay maybe that was more of a fantasy than a sentence, but that's allowed, right?
Enter me! I'll put an announcement in my weekly roundup on Thursday.
ReplyDeleteValentine's Day was just around the corner, and I was still living a lie. And I didn't even know if it was possible to be forgiven, but I had to try. I'd just walk up and say, "Okay, listen, look, I didn't mean to lie to you. I just couldn't tell the truth. Do you think it's easy being a clone?"
I'm in for your contest. My post with blurb goes up tomorrow. Congrats and a job well done on topping 100.
ReplyDeleteHere's my blurb:
Valentine's Day was just around the corner, and I was still living a lie. And I didn't even know if it was possible to be forgiven, but I had to try. I'd just walk up and say,
"Jim, we've been together for fifteen years, but I can't go on like this anymore. Roses make me break out in hives."
:D

Yea! Proud to be one of those 100 followers!
ReplyDeleteSentence finisher: Yes, it's true! I did it and I'm not ashamed either! I ate your Butterfinger. (Flashback: No one lays a finger on my Butterfinger. Ah! Old commercials. I have no idea where that came from...)

ReplyDeleteValentine's Day was just around the corner, and I was still living a lie. And I didn't even know if it was possible to be forgiven, but I had to try. I'd just walk up and say, "I didn't mean to do it, but the goldfish in your bowl isn't really Pamela. Remember that time you had me babysit? I forgot to feed her. I had to buy a new one. Can you still love a goldfish killer?"
Hi Kristin, I'm adding you to my blogroll right after I post this sentence. :) Congratulations!!
ReplyDeleteValentine's Day was just around the corner, and I was still living a lie. And I didn't even know if it was possible to be forgiven, but I had to try. I'd just walk up and say, "Gerald, I'm your twin sister. We were separated at birth ... Our mother took me to New Mexico and our father took you to New Delhi. That's why we have so much in common, why we feel we can read each other's minds, why you're practically another part of me, because you --*cough*-- technically are. Now, will you stop shoving that diamond ring in my face and finally believe me when I say I just want to be friends?"
1. Follower - check
ReplyDelete2. post on the contest - check
